New Home Page

John Musser, January 7th, 2006

ProgrammableWeb HomeOver the holiday break I had a chance to make some overdue updates to this site, one of which was updating the home page. Not a major site change but better reflects the new features added over the past few months: /popular mashups, how-to guide, technical reference and tag cloud.

Probably of more impact to visitors is that many of the larger and more complex sections like /popular are now cached. This makes a big performance difference and helps manage the growth of mashups and APIs. Certainly will be needed in ‘06.

For me, the most impact is that it doesn’t hurt my eyes to watch the site in Safari ;).

Yes, I also spent some time on improving the site’s compatibility across browsers. Hopefully better, but if folks see other issues please let me know. Much thanks again to those readers who’ve given me feedback and bug reports.
