- PervWatch: Plots the location of convicted sex offenders on Google Maps.
- phillycrime.org: Google Maps + data from Penn Public Safety combined to create a non-profit, freely browsable database of crimes reported in West Philadelphia, in and around the University of Pennsylvania.
- chicagocrime.org: An early mashup trendsetter plotted Chicago-area crimes Google Maps. Good enough to be the winner of the $10,000 Grand Prize in the Batten Awards for Innovations in Journalism.
